Luckily, the Lord provided me with work after highschool, then, in direct answer to prayer the Lord got me a 4yr degree - and my work paid for it. Of course it didn't lead to promotion, so I left. Now I'm a proposal writer, and despite graduating with honors, I can't write (that is, copy and paste from templates) proposals that well according to my boss. But, neither can my boss ;)

And there are plenty of dummies with degrees. I knew a guy who had an acting degree that was promoted into finance. I know two other smart guys who have no degree who finally got decent jobs. The Lord does provide, but it's not always what we expect. No Onehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13210257718658256236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955133430002694128.post-24975757145866085592012-08-08T06:36:39.690-07:002012-08-08T06:36:39.690-07:00I have often told my wife (who is a teacher) that ...I have often told my wife (who is a teacher) that I felt college was way over-rated. Her biggest protest for our kids not choosing college is how are they supposed to get a job without a diploma. Indeed! But God does supply, doesn't He?

You may have a point about the elite controlling the curriculum. The way we are systematicaly molded and shaped to be productive in the work force does feel very drone like. Let's also not under estimate the absolute crucial aspect that employers put on having diploma for the upper end jobs. Well I have met many brilliant people who have never went to college and plenty of dunces who have.

So there is an additional component that helps out Satan in his evil plans. That is that college is expensive and most people require large loans to secure their "future" employment through higher education. An indebted society is an enslaved society. We are all worldly slaves now, whose only hopes of freedom is through salvation through Jesus Christ. We have been ransomed from sin, but many Luke warm Christians will still fall victim to our enslavement to our security.
- hopeful_watcherAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955133430002694128.post-62389920986236848702012-08-07T06:30:53.339-07:002012-08-07T06:30:53.339-07:00Amen!Amen!No Onehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13210257718658256236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8955133430002694128.post-18624046789701388032012-08-06T14:52:22.274-07:002012-08-06T14:52:22.274-07:00In the face of a business correct credentialized c...In the face of a business correct credentialized cold calculating world it is encouraging to be reminded of God's encompassing love. In this life early on and a few failures and you are stimatized and left out but God majors in just the opposite. The Bible is replete with these stories of early doubt and trouble only to be turned around to the greatest good. Even Jesus's family started out with dysfunctional stigma.
The world cannot keep down what God will not let down and He doesn't let down anyone that turns to Him.
God is where it's at.Doughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14936708022015516483noreply@blogger.com
