Knowing God's will

I have struggled with knowing God's will for my wife for a while. I hit a wall, some time ago, then crashed low. Then, God raised me back up, and during the time God was healing/improving me, I felt some purpose and was continually improving. I felt like I was in God's will because He was giving me skills, and slowly rebuilding my faith.

Since then, I left my old job, using the degree I had obtained in college. The degree that God paid for, and allowed me to get high marks in. God worked an amazing miracle with money amd grades. But now, as I am working using my degree, I feel kind of empty. Unfulfilled. I feel again that I've hit a wall, that I don't know what God wants to do with me and the skills He's given me.

I prayed today, that God take my skills, the drawing. The writing and other abilities, and use them for His kingdom. I tell you all this so I can share how God will answer prayer and direct my path. I also want to share that time is indeed short. I believe Christ will return soon, and I want to be operating iin God's will when He comes back. Please be inspired to do the same. Please pray for me, and share your prayer requests as comments and God will help us know and do His will.

In Christ

  1. God's will is that in EVERYTHING Jesus would (and will)have the preemminence!
Colossians 1:13-20 (18 is the proof text!)
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
    19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

    Your Welcome!

  2. Thanks!

I have been growing since this post, and knowing that Christ coming first is indeed a priority. Been doing a lot of reading the Word and praying.

  3. It isn't about His soon return. Cory Ten Boom came to realize this as a christian who went bthrough the Nazi concentration camps, and having a ministry birthed there that lasted decades. They too thought He would have to be returning soon back then, as did Paul based upon his writings. When He returns, today, next month, next year, next century...great! Take a look at these two verses in light of the preemminence verses from earlier.
“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2Ch.7:13-14
Here we see the Lord calling us, not to pray for our land and politicians, but to humble ourselves, and turn from our wicked ways, He will again listen to our prayers...

    Now Matthew 6:6-15
“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
“And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. “So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
    “Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
    Hallowed be Your name.
    ‘Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
‘Give us this day our daily bread.
‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]
“For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
Here we see HOW we should pray. Not for our will like children nagging mom in the candy isle at the grocery store. Rather we are to pray for His will to be done here on earth just as it is done in heaven. Any arguments in heaven today? No, those who fought Him are cast down here to earth. Those in heaven spend their eternity worshipping and serving Him, and gladly they do this I might add. Are we ready to do this for eternity too?!?! Well that is what we are saying when we pray for His will to be done here on earth just like it is done in heaven! Lord, I want your will in my life, your preemminince here in my life! Out of our submitted will, death of flesh, picking up our instrument of physical death/our cross will this take place.
Most follow Him for wehat He can do for them. His sheep follow Him for Who He Is.
Thank you for your genuine desire to die an agonizing public death of your flesh so He can resurrect you as a new creation completely dedicated to Him and doing His Will as He reveals it to you by the Word in context, as revealed by the Holy Spirit. In this, you will be "No One" till He gives you His new name for you!
